"Flight (Ode to Banff)" Colored pencil, pencil, gouache. Copyright 2015 Jessica Boehman Dreaming of that most beautiful place in Banff, where the air of the snow forest was crisp and cool and smelled of millions of pine trees, and the glacier-fed lakes were a startling and unexpected turquoise, even on a cloudy day. Do you ever just long to fly away and never come back? I do. This time around I made sure to save all the tools I used to make the one drawing. It's not too much, but there are colors there you might not expect, like the purples. They formed the base of the clouds and the mountains to give the warm effect I was hoping for. You can also see it took 5 blues to get the lake color correct, and even still this scan is not quite green enough.
